Alameda Natural Grocery Celebrates Spring!

When: Throughout March

Where: Alameda Natural Grocery, 1650 Park St. Alameda

What: Healing meets fun at the Alameda Natural Grocery! This month, the business will host a diverse series of events, each workshop focusing on restoration and self-love. From facials, to broth, to making yogurt in mason jars, these events provide the opportunity for you to rejuvenate yourself as spring blooms about you throughout these coming weeks. There is an event for everyone, and if that's not enough, a huge chunk of these workshops don't cost a cent.

Does the color green speak to you? If so, sign yourself up for FREE facials on St. Patrick's Day! On Friday, March 17th, esthetician Shaundra Zee will educate participants on facial care from 1-3PM. She will demonstrate her lessons with products from lines such as Evan Healy, Acure, and DermaE. Of course, in honor of the holiday, many of these products will be green. At the end of the workshop, participants will receive a goodie bag containing body-care samples and teas. Additionally, those interested will be able to enter to win a basketful of full-sized body-care products. No registration is necessary.

Learn to heal your body with superfoods the next day. On Saturday, March 8th, nutritionist Marlese R. Carroll will promote the health benefits of a bone broth, an ancient recipe. Starting at 3PM, she will teach her audience how this soup can help you deliciously cut calories and reduce your risk for diseases such as diabetes. As an added benefit, all participants will be entered to win a tub of Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth.

This event requires registration. To do so, shoot Carroll an email at renee@alamedanaturalgrocery.com.

Last but not least, up your yoghurt game and learn to make adorable mason-jar snacks. On Saturday, March 25th from 3-5 PM, Meela Shah will lead a workshop on Pinterest-worthy snacks in the Grocery's new and beautifully-renovated classroom. The itinerary involves two recipes. First, participants will learn to make "Mystical Mason Jar French Green Lentil Salad." If that doesn't make your mouth water, surely the second item, "Fruitilicious Yoghurt Parfait with Prepared Granola," will.

This event costs $25 to attend. The price covers two mason jars and all of the ingredients. Those interested must also register. To do so, call The Pantry at (510) 865-1500. You can also register at The Pantry itself, located inside the Alameda Natural Grocery (address above).

Alameda Natural Grocery features an exciting exhibit of business and products all centered around making you the healthiest and happiest person you can be.
