Mae West dances, sings, and tames lions as well as millionaires in this racy pre-code film. Its most famous line is "Beaulah, peel me a grape," but there are many others in West's screenplay that delighted her fans and shocked the prudes. "When I'm good, I'm very good. But when I'm bad, I'm better," she purrs to Cary Grant. Censors refused to release the film until the song, "Nobody does it like a Dallas Man" was toned town to "Nobody Loves Me Like a Dallas Man," and after the Hayes code kicked in, the film was twice refused for re-release. In spite of this, it is considered one of the fifteen most influential films in cinema.
