Hawthorn Suites Alameda

Except for the breakfast, this place is the best in Alameda. Conveniently located middle of Webster, it's close to everything in Alameda. It's being renovated so the rooms are more modern now but still basic

A slice of normality, surrounded by sea and 10 mins to most great areas

Good access to SFO but not if you're in rush ..... beautiful island and coast line. views are only 10 mins by bike or walking form the hotel. Very little road noise it's a quiet neighbourhood but don't confuse it's location, the same address is also in Oakland !!! Very rare noise from fire station in the block but only a niggle not a problem

Excellent, Affordable Hotel in the Bay Area

The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained and the rooms themselves are large with beds that are exceptionally comfortable. Alameda is a nice, quiet and well-appointed area with many restaurants and amenities as well, although we found out the hard way that you cannot walk from Oakland to Alameda. You will need a taxi or a bus! Bonus points for a free, reasonable-quality breakfast every morning. Myself and a colleague were travelling to a conference and it worked out cheaper to stay here and commute via public transit into SF City than to stay in the City. I was incredibly glad we chose to do this! After this I spent a couple of weeks travelling across America and this was still the best room I stayed in

Perfect Pairing for Pinball

Just in case you don't know it already, but the Pacific Pinball Museum is right down the street from this hotel! My wife wanted to go hiking at some East Bay parks up in hills east of Oakland and my counteroffer was to go to the pinball museum as well. We both got our way! We were allowed to park our car in the hotel parking lot upon arrival, then we went down the street to play some pinball. Returned later, checked in, got to our room. The room was very large, with a sofabed in the sitting area and a big comfy king sized bed. The room was extraordinarily quiet, thanks to the double-double paned windows. Clean, comfortable, convenient. We had a very nice one night stay. Btw, the Pinball Museum has an all day rate, with a teacher discount! This trip will be repeated

Clean and Convenient

Our room was very clean and the hotel is very convenient to all the things we wanted to do. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was the usual fare you get at most hotels. They are in the process of updating the hotel
