Table tennis offers many health benefits. Anyone of any age, size, and experience level can enjoy the sport and reap the many health benefits that benefit the whole body from the cardiovascular to the nervous system. By sharpening reflexes and stimulating no less than five parts of the brain, players can enjoy improvements to balance, mental alertness, and sleep. Additionally, according to the event website, four out of five musicians claim that ping pong is the best game to play to music.
Lauren Hewitt and Linda Jacobson founded Paddlesnap to encourage community-building an cardio exercise. The two plan on opening a social fitness club for the community, which will aim to "put a new spin on working out - and enjoy that summer vacation vibe every day of the year!" The upcoming club will feature table tennis, live music, nutritious snacks and drinks and will work to create community of "fun-loving people" who "enjoy a balanced life." A grand opening is planned for the center in 2016.
